New AAF District 7 Leadership Roles

We are proud to extend our leadership opportunities at the district level for the 2016-2017 year. AAF District 7 is the largest, most aggressive, innovative and oldest District of the 15 that comprise the American Advertising Federation (AAF). The five state district comprises of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee, and includes 1600+ professional members and 580+ student members.

Cara Hathcock, our Government Relations chair for 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 has accepted her nomination for AAF District 7’s Government Relations Chair–Alabama. Cara will report to the district’s Governor-Elect all issues affecting advertising for the state, and serve as a mentor for all Alabama AAF chapters’ Government Relations chairs as needed.

Leigh Farrior, who has served for us in various positions for the last ten years, has been elected to AAF District 7’s Executive Committee. This six year commitment starts July 1st as Secretary/Treasurer, leads to her being Governor for the 2020-2021 year, and concludes following that as Board Chair.

AAF Montgomery will host the AAF District 7 Spring Convention in April 2020 for Leigh’s Governor’s Gala and installation. The convention also includes the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), the District American Advertising Awards Gala, and many professional development opportunities. The last event we hosted for the District was the Leadership Conference in 2010. If you wish to serve on the convention host committee, it’s never too early to sign up!
